If you feel you’ve been the victim of a predatory loan, there may be a legal course of action. To learn more, review our list of resources with experience in fair housing practices.

If you need foreclosure legal advice, Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee and Lakelaw Wisconsin have joined forces to provide this service to homeowners.  Qualified homeowners who have been referred by a counseling agency will be eligible to receive various legal services, not involving litigation, valued at up to $500, at no cost.

Funding for this legal assistance is provided under the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program’s Legal Assistance Funds.  Neither Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee nor Lakelaw Wisconsin can provide legal services in connection with a pending foreclosure case or other litigation services under this program.

Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee will help people who live in Milwaukee County.  Legal Aid Society will also continue to offer post-foreclosure filing legal advice and representation to qualifying homeowners in Milwaukee County.
